Black Lab Software, through Roberto J. Dohnert, has informed Softpedia earlier today, January 26, 2016, about the immediate availability for download and update of the Black Lab Linux 7.0.3 operating system.

According to the developers, Black Lab Linux 7.0.3 is the third maintenance release in the Black Lab Linux 7.0 series of operating system, bringing the latest software updates, bugfixes, under-the-hood improvements, and security patches.

Black Lab Linux 7.0.3 remains based on the Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS (Trusty Tahr) operating system, which means that it uses most of its components, including the Linux kernel packages, which have been updated to version 3.19.0.43.

"Black Lab LInux 7.0.3 has been released with an updated kernel (3.19.0.43). This is a maintenance release - no major application changes have been planned or implemented," said Roberto J. Dohnert, Black Lab Software CEO.

As usual, all users of the Black Lab Linux 7.0 series of Linux kernel-based operating system are urged today to make sure that they're running the latest version (7.0.3) by keeping their installations up-to-date at all times.

New users, those who want to try the latest stable version of Black Lab Linux can download the new ISO images for Black Lab LInux 7.0.3 right now from our website. The distribution is supported only on 64-bit machines.

In the meantime, Black Lab Software is working hard on the next major version of the Ubuntu-based operating system, Black Lab Linux 8 "Onyx," which received a first Alpha build two weeks ago. Plans for Black Lab Linux 9 "Diesel" have also been revealed.
