Terraria, a 2D adventure game developed and published by Re-Logic on Steam, will finally get a Linux version. The makers of the game said on Twitter that a Linux version is incoming.

Terraria is a game that lets users build, explore, and fight into a huge 2D world. The response from the community has been amazing, and it's one of the most played game on Steam, even if it was released back in 2011.

"Blending elements of classic action games with the freedom of sandbox-style creativity, Terraria is a unique gaming experience where both the journey and the destination are completely in the player’s control. The Terraria adventure is truly as unique as the players themselves!" reads the Steam entry.

The developers said on Twitter that a Linux Beta version would be made available today. It's still not here, but it should happen very soon. The system requirements are pretty low, and most users will be able to run it.

Gamers will need to have a 1.6 GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, 200MB of HDD space, and a video card with 128MB. Users will also need to buy Terraria in order to play the Beta, but that was to be expected.
