We have just been informed by the developer of the 4MLinux project, Zbigniew Konojacki, that version 14.0 of his 4MRescueKit Live CD is now in Beta stages of development.

According to Mr. Konojacki, 4MRescueKit includes all the great little sister projects of 4MLinux, the Antivirus Live CD antivirus toolkit based on Clam AntiVirus (ClamAV), the BakAndImgCD disk backup and imaging Live CD based on Partimage, Partclone, and GNU ddrescue, as well as 4MParted disk partitioning Live CD based on Gparted.

Additionally, 4MRescueKit comes with the 4MRecover, a simple, small and fast GNU/Linux distribution based on 4MLinux and PhotoRec/TestDisk, designed for all sorts of file recovery tasks. The upcoming 4MRescueKit 14.0 Live CD will include the latest versions of the Antivirus Live CD, BakAndImgCD, 4MRecover, and 4MParted projects.

"4MRescueKit provides its users with software for antivirus protection, data backup, disk partitioning, and data recovery. It is distributed in the form of a multiboot CD, which includes four (extremely small) operating systems," said Zbigniew Konojacki. "This release has Antivirus Live CD 14.0-0.98.7, BakAndImgCD 14.0, 4MParted 14.0, and 4MRecover 14.0."

4MRescueKit 14.0 Beta comes with Antivirus Live CD 14.0-0.98.7, 4MParted 14.0 Beta, 4MRecover 14.0 Beta, and BakAndImgCD 14.0. You can download the 4MRescueKit 14.0 Beta Live CD 32-bit ISO image right now from Softpedia, but please try to keep in mind that it's a pre-release version, not suitable for production use.
