We have been informed by Zbigniew Konojacki, the creator and lead developer of the 4MLinux project, that the Beta release of his upcoming 4MRecover 14.0 distrolette is now available for download and testing.

According to Mr. Konojacki, the biggest feature of this release is the addition of the TestDisk 7.0 free, a open-source data recovery software utility that has been designed from the ground up to help users recover lost partitions as well as to unerase deleted files from all types of storage units.

"4MRecover is a small live CD designed for data recovery. It's a part of 4MRescueKit, which in turn is one of the three main 4MLinux releases available for downloads. This version includes TestDisk 7.0 and it uses 4MLinux 14.0 as the base system," says Zbigniew Konojacki.

As expected, the Beta release of the 4MRecover 14.0 distrolette is now based on the 4MLinux 14.0 GNU/Linux distribution, which is currently in Beta stages of development too. If you wish to test 4MRecover 14.0, you can download the 4MRecover 14.0 Beta ISO image right now from Softpedia.

Just try to keep in mind that it's a pre-release version, which means that it is currently not suitable for production use. Also, please note that 4MLinux and 4MRecover distros are designed to support only 32-bit computers. More details can be found on the project's website.
