Zbigniew Konojacki, the creator of all the 4MLinux distributions, announced us earlier that the Beta release of the upcoming 4MParted 13.0 Live CD used for disk partitioning operations was made available for testing.

According to the very short release notes, 4MParted 13.0 Beta is here to update the popular Gparted open-source partition editor software to version 0.22.0, as well as to rebase the entire Live CD on the forthcoming 4MLinux 13.0 Linux distribution.

"4MParted is a very small live CD designed for disk partitioning. It's a part of 4MRescueKit, which in turn is one of the three main 4MLinux releases available for download," says Zbigniew Konojacki. "This version includes GParted 0.22.0 and it uses 4MLinux 13.0 as the base system."

The 4MParted Live CD is being distributed as part of the 4MRescueKit project, which also includes a Live CD with the same name. Those of you who want to test 4MParted 13.0 Beta can download the ISO image right now from Softpedia, but please try to keep in mind that it's a pre-release version and it has some rough edges, so we don't recommended it for use on production environments.
