A new update has been released for this new distro

4MParted, a Linux distribution based on the 4MLinux and GParted, has been upgraded and is now ready for download and testing.

4MParted is built by the same developer who also does the 4MLinux OSes, so you know that it's going to be a small tool. Unlike the 4MLinux distros, this is just the Gparted that boots inside the running OS. There are no desktop environment and no other apps. It's great if you just want to make some changes to the structure of the system from outside.

"4MParted is a very small live CD designed for disk partitioning. It's a part of 4MRescueKit, which in turn is one of the three main 4MLinux releases available for downloads. This version includes GParted 0.21.0 and it uses 4MLinux 12.0 as the core system," said the developer.

The latest 4MLinux was made available just last week and is the latest in the series. The OS itself is full of tools; everything has been stripped bare for this distro. It keeps the size down and the boot speed fast.

You can download 4MParted 12.0 Beta right now from Softpedia and give it a spin. Please keep in mind that it's not a stable release, and some problems might still be present.
