The PlayStation 3 console receives regular software updates. The latest one includes system compatibility with PlayStation Vita. You can quickly copy data such as image, music or video files as well as games and other applications. Two-way communication is now possible between the systems.

You can save PS Vita backup files on PS3 disk drive. You can perform system software updates for PS Vita by using the network features available on PS3.

All of these operations can be carried out via a USB connection between the two systems. You can initiate these actions via the interface of the PS Vita.

A new feature has been added to the “System Settings” menu of the PS3 system that enables you to delete the backup files from PS Vita.

PS Vita System Application Utility has been added to the Game menu.

Some features have been revised or added to this patch. Upscale output, as well as Cinema conversion, are now supported for Blu-ray Disc content. PlayStation Plus members can select the items they wish to update in the Automatic Update tab from the System Settings window.

The system now supports English (United Kingdom) and Portuguese (Brazil), which are available in the System Language window.

You can now set their privacy settings by opening “Account Management” in the “Account Information” window.

Regular updates for drivers and software will keep your console running properly. Setting up system restore points are recommended before you install device drivers especially if you have old or unsupported hardware devices.
