Half-Life 2: Update

Half-Life 2 is one of the bigger steps in gaming. It continued the otherwise fantastic first title and did so by greatly improving in everything from gameplay to graphics to story and characters.

Half-Life 2: Update is the third big fan-made release that's backed up by Valve and aims to further polish and improve the game in all of its aspects while being provided as a free update.

This mod implements updated lighting, new and/or optimized visual effects, a better fog and adds a complex and well designed community commentary mode. The mod also ensures that some of the small but noticeable bugs are fixed so that gameplay remains smooth and cinematics are cued at the right time.

Summarized, Half-Life 2: Updateprovides detailed shadows, light rays, particle effects, high dynamic range (HDR) and improves water detail, world reflections, collision system and scripted sequences.

Some of the changes might not be visible due to the exact fact that they are very subtle and well polished instead of being 'in-your-face' alterations. Half-Life 2: Update aims to be and do exactly what its title says, update Half-Life 2, not modify it.
