Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 has just received some fresh details from Electronic Arts and PopCap Games, including confirmation that fans will be able to enjoy a solo mode called Backyard Battleground. A new video depicting a fresh map, and a Mass Effect-inspired pre-order bonus are also available.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfarae surprised quite a lot of people when it launched last year across PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. The title reimagined the tower defense action seen in the original PvZ and turned it into a third-person shooter.

Now, with Garden Warfare 2, Electronic Arts and PopCap Games are taking things further by adding new characters, fresh adventures, and a plot line that gives more insight into both the plants and the zombies.

At Gamescom 2015, the two companies brought forth a new gameplay video that took plants to Moon Base Z on, you guessed it, the Moon. Besides showcasing the great mechanics, the trailer also focuses on the three new plant characters and the three fresh zombies.

PopCap has also mentioned that fans can enjoy a solo mode called Backyard Battleground in Garden Warfare 2, while those who pre-order will receive a special Z7 mech suit for the Imp character, inspired by the Mass Effect series made by BioWare.
