After finally confirming Mafia 3 last week, 2K Games has officially brought forth the first actual video for the open-world action-adventure experience during Gamescom 2015, showcasing about 4 minutes of cinematic sequences from the title.

The Mafia series has been around for many years now, and while publisher 2K Games saw fit to close down original developer 2K Czech some time ago, the third entry, Mafia 3, is now getting ready for launch from one of its US-based teams.

The game got its official confirmation last week, and today, during the first day of Gamescom 2015, 2K has released the first official video for Mafia 3.

As you can see in the footage below, the sequences are purely cinematic, despite the video lasting close to 4 minutes.

The main focus is the protagonist, Lincoln Clay, who returns to his hometown of New Orleans in 1968, after the Vietnam war.

The core theme is family, explaining that family isn't who you're born with, it's who you die for.

Expect to hear some more details about Mafia 3, as well as its actual gameplay, as we get closer to its debut that's been confirmed for 2016 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One platforms.
