14 DAY TRIAL // After a leak yesterday, Journey has been officially confirmed to launch on the PS4 console later this month, on July 21. A special trailer has also been released, showcasing footage from the remastered indie experience.
Sony and independent studio Thatgamecompany partnered many years ago to bring some innovative experiences to the PS3 console. The Canadian studio more than lived up to its side of the bargain, bringing games like Flow, Flower, or Journey to the old home console.
The first two games have already been remastered for the PS4, and now, after quite some time, Journey is set to also make an appearance on the new console.
After the leak of a July 21 release date for Journey on the PS4, Sony confirms on the PS blog that Journey will launch on the PS4 at that time around the world.
Besides offering PS4 owners the chance to explore this innovative experience, Journey also supports cross-buy, meaning those who purchased the digital game on their PS3 can also get it for free on the PS4.
