The development team at 343 Industries and publisher Microsoft are announcing that they are planning to launch a new animated series linked to the coming Halo 5: Guardians, which will be called Halo: The Fall of Reach.

Apparently, gamers will be able to explore three story acts that will detail the origins of the Spartan-II program, which have always been some of the most mysterious elements of the universe.

The company is offering an official trailer for the new animated series and says that all those who get the special editions associated with Halo 5: Guardians will be able to get access to it for free while other players will need to pay, although no price was announced.

343 Industries adds, "Set during events both before and after the terrifying Covenant attack on humanity, the story will introduce viewers to the members of Blue Team and allow them to witness the pivotal moments that forged the legendary squad’s legacy."

Microsoft is also launching a range of novels associated with the Halo series this year, in order to expand the narrative side of the franchise.

Halo 5: Guardians is designed to offer a more complex story than previous titles in the series and will be offered on the Xbox One on October 27 of this year.
