14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft is announcing that it has entered into a partnership with the ESL in order to organize a big Gamescom invitation tournament for Halo 5: Guardians, which will take place on Friday, August 7, in the arena on the show floor.
For the first time, gamers will be able to take a look at the Arena gameplay, in which teams of four players will be able to show off their skills as they seem to achieve victory.
The invited teams are Epsilon Esports, Supremacy, CAZ.Esports, and OpTic Gaming.
Gamers will be able to watch all the action from the Halo 5: Guardians Gamescom Invitational on the official Twitch channel of the series.
Maps and competition format will also be detailed in the coming weeks.
High profile eSports tournaments are a good way for 343 Industries and Microsoft to both show off new modes and concepts to the larger player base and to create interest for the title among professional teams.
Halo 5: Guardians will be launched on October 27 of this year on the Xbox One.
So far, Microsoft has not said whether it plans to run its own long-term competitions for the shooter or if it will enter a partnership with organizers who have more experience in the field, as the ESL.
