Video game publisher Sony is launching the Remastered version of God of War III on the PlayStation 4 today in North America, and the company is also delivering an official release date trailer for the Kratos-powered title, which shows how the hardware of the console will improve the experience.

Gamers will be able to get through the exploration and combat sequences in 1080p resolution and at 60 frames per second, while also using a new Photo Mode to show off the most interesting moments.

Gamers can also get God of War III Remastered in Europe tomorrow, July 15.

Sony has not said whether it also plans to remake the other titles in the series for the PlayStation 4 or if it will offer them on the Now streaming service in the future.

Rumors about a new God of War experience which is in development at Sony Santa Monica have been appearing for more than one year, but so far no official announcement has been made.

Some gamers have suggested that the studio is aiming to deliver a significantly revamped version of Kratos and the universe associated with him, which will take longer than usual to create and then to reveal to the fan community.
