Gears of War Ultimate Edition developer The Coalition confirms that, in order to push the remastered visuals as far as possible, the single-player campaign in the game's Xbox One version runs at a 30fps framerate. Meanwhile, the multiplayer mode is capable of 60fps, to ensure a smooth flow of combat.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition is set to arrive next week across Xbox One and PCs equipped with the new Windows 10 operating system.

Developer The Coalition has highlighted several times the many improvements it's made to the original Gears of War title, which launched way back in 2006 for the old Xbox 360. From better textures, to revised cut scenes or effects, players are in for a better time.

Unfortunately, it seems that the different visual enhancements made to the game's single-player campaign has forced The Coalition to sacrifice the framerate.

According to Studio Head Rod Fergusson, in order to push the visuals further in the single-player mode, the framerate was locked at just 30fps.

Meanwhile, the multiplayer mode is available at a 60fps framerate in order to ensure that the action feels smooth and fast-paced.

Both modes run at a native 1080p resolution, according to Fergusson.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition arrives on August 25, worldwide, so expect to see some fresh gameplay footage in the following days.
