The development team at Square Enix working on Final Fantasy XV is delivering a new trailer for the Gamescom 2015 event, named Dawn, which is designed to set up some of the story elements of the coming title and to offer a new look at the world that gamers will be able to explore.

The action takes place 15 years before the events of the coming title and focuses on the link between main character Noctis and his father, King Regis.

As the Kingdom of Lucis is set to enter into an armistice with Niflheim, the protagonist is sent away to marry Lady Lunafreya of the imperial province of Tenebrae.

The entire process is just a ruse and Noctis finds out that the capitol is captured and that his family is thought to be dead.

Final Fantasy XV will be out at some point in 2016 on the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

Square Enix has promised a new take on the classic gameplay of the series and a narrative that is designed to tackle a wide variety of themes.

The new Luminous engine is designed to make the world of the game more immersive than for any previous installment in the franchise.
