Lionhead Studios, the developer behind the big Fable series, confirms that the current focus of the whole team is the upcoming Fable Legends multiplayer role-playing game. As such, those hoping for a Fable 4 shouldn't expect the single-player title anytime soon.

The Fable series has been around for many years, impressing plenty of Xbox and PC users with the quirky role-playing experiences masterminded by designer Peter Molyneux and his team at Lionhead Studios.

After some mixed iterations in recent years, Lionhead, without Molyneux who quit to pursue other projects, is getting ready to launch Fable Legends, a multiplayer role-playing experience that will appear on both Xbox One and PC this October.

Even so, some fans of the series are hoping that a Fable 4 might appear in the future, continuing the story of the RPG series and delivering a single-player experience.

Unfortunately for them, Lionhead Studios confirms on its Twitter account that the current focus is on Fable Legends and that it will remain a priority for the foreseeable future. As such, Fable 4 isn't even in active development.

Those that yearn for solo adventures, the studio says, can still enjoy Fable Legends with AI companions and lots of different quests.

You can expect to see and hear much more about the online Fable experience in the following weeks, as we get closer to its launch on October 16.
