Developer The Chinese Room and publisher Sony are getting ready to launch Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture on August 11, and the two companies are ready to deliver a launch trailer for the title, which shows the mysterious events that gamers will have to investigate.

The title will introduce six characters, each with its own experience of what seems to be the apocalypse.

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture will allow players to explore a complex world and to interact with the objects that they find in order to get more information about the events and their causes.

The PS Blog announcement also talks about the voice cast, saying that Merle Dandridge, known to gamers for her work as Alyx Vance in Half Life 2 and Marlene in The Last of Us, is heading the list as Dr. Katherine Collins.

The Chinese Room has not offered too many details about the story that it is planning to tell, but the studio has promised a lot of opportunities to interact with the world and to influence the way the narrative plays out.

Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture started life as a PC project, a spiritual successor to Dear Esther, but since then, the team has decided to work with Sony to deliver it on the PlayStation 4.
