The Definitive Edition isn't all that great

Dishonored: Definitive Edition has just been released on PS4 and Xbox One in North America, and a direct graphics comparison video between the PS4 and Xbox 360 versions shows minor improvements.

Dishonored launched way back in 2011 onto the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 platforms all around the world. Since then, developer Arkane Studios and publisher Bethesda have released quite a few different updates and expansions, adding new adventures and features to the stealth game.

The two companies have also worked hard on the Definitive Edition of the game, which began its release yesterday in North America, and continues the rollout on Friday, August 28, in Europe and the rest of the world.

While Bethesda and Arkane have mentioned the various improvements made to the game's original version in order to take advantage of the PS4 or Xbox One, a fan-made graphics comparison between the PS4 version and the old Xbox 360 edition shows rather modest actual enhancements.

As you can see, with sequences from the opening portion of the game, the textures look mostly the same, as do the character models for the main cast.

What's worse, the framerate is still at 30fps, despite the game not requiring that much power from the two home consoles.

As of yet, Bethesda hasn't commented on the comparison or on the criticism from fans about the Dishonored: Definitive Edition.
