After a report earlier a few months ago, Microsoft and Remedy Entertainment confirm that Quantum Break, their upcoming Xbox One exclusive game, is delayed until 2016. The official reason for this new release date is the desire to optimize and fine-tune the new action adventure title.

Quantum Break was revealed alongside the Xbox One back in 2013 as an innovative interactive experience, as it combines both an actual game and a TV show.

Unfortunately, not much else has been heard about the game, except for a pretty impressive gameplay video that surfaced at Gamescom 2014 last summer.

Earlier this year, a rumor claimed that Quantum Break wasn't going to launch in 2015, and now developer Remedy and publisher Microsoft confirm that this is the case.

Quantum Break is now set to appear in 2016, although it's unclear whether it will launch for the Xbox One in the first half of the year or the second one.

The official reasoning behind the delay, according to the game's website, is that Remedy wants extra time to polish and fine tune the gameplay, so that it lives up to the expectations of fans from all over the world.

No other details have been offered so expect to hear more about Quantum Break possibly at E3 2015 this summer or towards the latter parts of the year.
