Microsoft Xbox boss Phil Spencer confirms that one of his team's highest priorities includes speeding up the dashboard user interface of the Xbox One console, and that through Windows 10 and DirectX 12, things should be much more responsive.

The Xbox One console launched back in November of 2013, and since then, Microsoft has released monthly firmware updates that not only bring just fresh features but also enhance various existing mechanics.

The biggest update, however, is set to debut later this year in the form of the Windows 10 operating system that will be available on the Xbox One as well as on PC and mobile devices.

Alongside Windows 10, the new DirectX 12 API is also going to launch and should also improve game and app performance on the console.

Another area where the new OS will help is the dashboard user interface, according to Microsoft's Phil Spencer, who confirms this on Twitter.

Spencer adds that one of the biggest goals of his team is to speed up the interface on the Xbox One, so that fans have a good time when interacting with their console.

As of yet, it's unclear when Windows 10 is actually going to debut and it hasn't yet been demonstrated while running on the Xbox One.
