Electronic Arts' reboot of the SimCity franchise, which was largely considered a disaster, left a pretty big void in the hearts of many fans of the classic city building franchise.

That void might just turn out to be the exact shape of upcoming city management simulation title Cities: Skylines, coming from developer Colossal Order, the maker of the pretty popular Cities in Motion.

The difference between Maxis, the developer of SimCity, and Colossal Order, is colossal to say the least, and several orders of magnitude at best, but nonetheless, what the team has shown so far exhibits a ton of potential.

Publisher Paradox Interactive allowed a couple of gamers to play the game at this year's edition of Paradox Con, and now one of the recordings made its way to YouTube, showing us some pre-release gameplay footage from the city building game.

You'll be able to get a preview of the game, talking about the different simulation features present in the upcoming title, with very helpful commentary revealing the different strategies and the impact of your decisions on the flow of the game.

Cities: Skylines is scheduled to come out on March 10, 2015, headed to Windows PC, Mac OS X and Linux.
