Good news for fans of competitive couch games, as TowerFall Dark World is coming out this Tuesday.

One of the most exciting multiplayer games of 2014, TowerFall is a pixelated one-screen archery and platforming contest where you have to pay attention not only to the sharp objects your opponents are flinging your way but also to numerous environmental hazards.

The indie title made its debut last year and was a genuine hit on Sony’s PlayStation 4 home console, so much so that the developers just had to create an expansion for it.

Developer Matt Thorson now aims to launch the Dark World on PS4, Windows, Mac and Linux, all on the same day, May 12, offering players the chance to enrich their experience with several new additions.

Each Dark World portal contains several stages, and you can revive fallen teammates and take on deadly bosses using new weapons, such as the Trigger Arrows, a novel power-up that lets your arrows behave like remote-controlled bombs, and other exciting features.

TowerFall Dark World also supports a four-player mode with a lot of bosses, an expansion of the original Quest mode, allowing friends to have even more insane, pixelated fun.

From procedurally-generated levels to ten new archers, the DLC is a definite evolution for TowerFall. You can see some of the new features in action in the trailer below.
