The development team at The Creative Assembly has released a new Rally Point video, which delivers information about the franchise for the fan community, and the highlight of the feature is the announcement that Historical Battles will be included in the coming Total War: Attila.

The footage includes 13 minutes of action taken from the Battle of the Catalaunian Plains, which is also known as the Battle of Maurica and pitted the Huns and the Ostrogoths against the forces of the Western Roman Empire and the Visigoths.

The engagement was finely balanced and historically the Romans were able to stop the invading barbarians, although the battle included a number of turning points that gamers will be able to explore, if they are interested in re-writing the past.

Total War: Attila will include a number of other historical battles.

Simon Mann, a designer on The Creative Assembly development team, also talks about the hardcore challenges that gamers will be able to try and execute in the coming strategy game.

The focus in Attila will be on the single-player campaign, which allows players to take control of a variety of factions, including the Huns, and aim either to keep them alive during the period or to turn them into a superpower at the expense of their neighbors.
