The development team at The Creative Assembly is finally ready to confirm that it will make the Huns playable in the upcoming Total War: Attila, allowing gamers to take control of one of the most powerful forces in the history of the world as it moves West and threatens the Roman Empire.

Scourge of God is the cultural trait for the faction, which will give it bonuses when attacking Christians, and it will start off in nomad form, which means gamers are free to choose how to expand when the campaign starts.

The associated video offers a little more details on the defining characteristics of the Huns in Total War: Attila.

Unfortunately, there’s no actual footage of the horde in action, so it’s impossible to see at the moment how The Creative Assembly is trying to make sure that the powerful faction is not overpowered when the game starts.

The new Total War title is designed to deal with the decline of the Roman Empire and the way a variety of factions are struggling to find new ways to survive and avoid their more powerful neighbors.

The studio has promised improved AI, more strategic options and tactical battles where more importance is given to fire and fear.

Total War: Attila will be out on February 17 and will be playable only on the PC.
