In case you were wondering what a modern take on Naughty God's Jak and Daxter would look like, then look no further.

An artist who goes by the name of Floordan on DeviantArt created a high-definition remake of a level from the popular transformer series, more precisely the Pumping Station from Jak II.

Jak II came out back in 2003, for the PlayStation 2 home console and was considered a ground-breaking title.

Back then, subsequent installments in a series used to change the gameplay formula a lot, and so did Jak II, with a bigger focus on combat, as well as a ton of stuff to do and a lot of level recycling, which many fans compared to the franchise trying to emulate the Grand Theft Auto formula.

Floordan's creation shows a lot of love for the original material and a lot of talent, looking truly astounding. The whole thing was created using CryEngine and also features some neat weather effects.

For the time being, Naughty Dog is dedicated in its entirety to working on the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, after having shipped the HD remake of PlayStation 3 hit action-adventure title The Last of Us last year.

The Jak and Daxter franchise belongs to Sony, so it's highly unlikely that we'll ever see it making a comeback, let alone on PC. Nonetheless, fans of 3D platforming action are pining for a fresh entry in the series.
