The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has officially gone gold, as developer CD Projekt Red confirms that the long-awaited role-playing game is finally ready for its launch on May 19 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The Witcher 3 was presented to the world way back in 2013, and developer CD Projekt Red pledged to debut the role-playing experience in early 2014. Unfortunately, the Polish studio didn't manage to stick to its initial release estimate and operated quite a few delays in order to continue working on the game and to ensure that it wouldn't end up disappointing fans.

The latest release date offered by the team was May 19, and after seeing some great gameplay videos and even hearing news about the upcoming expansions, CD Projekt Red confirms that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has finished production and has gone gold.

The game is ready for its upcoming launch in May and it's possible that that the studio will use the remaining time until then to work on smaller updates and bug fixes, while completing work on the various free DLC packs promised to players some time ago.

After the game's launch, the two major expansions are expected to appear in October of 2015 and in the first few months of 2016.
