Video game developer ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda are announcing that their MMO The Elder Scrolls Online has received patch 2.0.5 on both the North American and the European servers after periods of maintenance.

Gamers can take a look at all the changes made to the title by clicking on the button at the end of the article.

Most of the changes made to the MMO are linked to Alliance War, a number of quests, and the boss battle in Veteran Fungal Grotto.

The Elder Scrolls Online started out as a classic subscription-based title and managed to perform well enough under that model for a while.

Finally, Bethesda made the decision to move to a free-to-play system in order to draw in a bigger number of players.

Those who pay a monthly subscription still have access to advantages, including currency to get items from the new official store.

The Elder Scrolls Online is also coming to home consoles in the summer of this year, but there are no plans to introduce cross platform play for the MMO.

Bethesda has said that it wants to add regular new content in order to keep gamers engaged while also tweaking core mechanics via patches launched during the server maintenance period.
