The team at Nintendo in charge of the Amiibo line of figures is announcing that it will deliver a new Silver Edition for the Super Mario item on May 29 in North America, giving collectors a chance to add a new piece of game-related content to their collections.

Nintendolife has managed to confirm the date, but the company is not yet saying whether it plans to deliver it in only one retail chain or if it will be widely available.

The Gold version of the Super Mario Amiibo was only delivered in Walmart stores and has since been offered for relatively high prices on the second-hand market.

The new figure will cost 12.99 dollars (10 Euro), but it's unclear whether there are plans to also release it in Europe and in Japan.

No new functionality will be associated with the Silver Edition for Super Mario.

The Amiibo line has been very successful for Nintendo, and the company has found that there are collectors who are ready to pick up almost any kind of content it is launching.

The company has also announced that it will re-issue some old figures in the coming months in order to make sure that all those interested in them can pick one up for a reasonable price.
