Video game developer Insomniac Games and publisher Microsoft are announcing that they are planning to launch the final piece of downloadable content for Sunset Overdrive, called Dawn of the Rise of the Fallen Machines, on April 1.

Gamers who buy it or already have the Season Pass for the shooter will be able to explore an entirely new area, experience a small story linked to the world of the title and play using an innovative traversal mechanic.

All of them can be seen in the new Dawn of the Rise of the Fallen Machines for Sunset Overdrive video, which also features Jessica Chobot.

Neither the developer nor the publisher have said so far whether they are planning to create a series based on the game.

Sunset Overdrive is an Xbox One exclusive and Microsoft has invested a lot in its development and promotion, seeing it as a way of delivering an experience which uses all the resources of its new home console.

The game is focused on fast and precise player movement and includes a vast array of interesting weapons, playing on one of the core competencies of Insomniac Games, but the title did not deliver the sales that were expected from it.
