Star Wars Battlefront publisher Electronic Arts confirms that the upcoming shooter will run at a 60fps framerate on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles when it launches in November, although playing it in splitscreen halves it to 30fps.

Star Wars Battlefront is one of the biggest titles set to debut this fall, as many different fans of the sci-fi series and the older Battlefront titles are quite interested in the game, which is currently in development at DICE and set to be published by EA.

While quite a lot of gameplay details have been shared in recent months, actual performance figures have yet to be confirmed, although DICE did say it was targeting 60fps on PS4 and Xbox One.

Now, during a Facebook Q&A session, EA confirms that Star Wars Battlefront does, in fact, run at 60fps on the PS4 and Xbox One during regular gameplay.

However, when players enter splitscreen with a friend in the special Star Wars Battlefront Missions, the framerate gets halved to 30fps.

As such, fans shouldn't expect the same smooth performance when playing with a buddy locally. However, in the regular multiplayer and when playing the missions solo, things should be quite responsive on the two consoles.

Battlefront arrives in November on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
