Video game developer Slightly Mad Studios and publisher Bandai Namco are announcing that they are delaying their Project CARS racing title and that the new launch date for the game is April 2, set to be offered on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One and the PC.

The two companies are saying that the new delay is required to make sure that gamers get a solid experience on launch without the need for any patching.

Ian Bell, head of studio at Slightly Mad Studios, is quoted as saying, "We know that these extra days will allow us to provide the best game experience that our fans deserve. We assure you the wait will be worth it when the game does arrive early April."

Project CARS is created by a team which has experience with the racing game genre and wants to create a game squarely aimed at fans of fast cars who also appreciate authenticity.

The project will seek to deliver a beautiful, intense and complex game which is built around the requirements of the fans base, with innovative mechanics for handling, weather and multiplayer races.

Project CARS was funded using money from the community and fans will probably be OK with the extra wait time as long as the studio delivers a good title.
