PopCap Games and Electronic Arts have confirmed that Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare players can take part in some fresh weekly events for the remainder of January, one challenging them to use Sonic mines and grenades, while another tasking them with gooping zombies.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare may have launched last year, but thanks to addictive gameplay and a constant support from PopCap, the multiplayer-only third-person shooter is still very popular all around the world across many different platforms.

In order to get people to constantly return to the experience, the two companies have organized a variety of weekly events over time.

For the last few weeks of January, there are two big events with some very impressive prizes, according to the official Twitter.

First up, there's the Sonic Boom community challenge that's already started earlier this week and is set to conclude on Monday, January 26. It tasks players with throwing Sonic grenades or mines while playing as the zombie Engineer character, and offers players two ultra-rare sticker packs for reaching the 14 million milestone. According to the developer, the community has already managed to reach the 11 million mark on January 21, so it's pretty much in the bag.

Next week, another challenge begins, this time tasking Garden Warfare players with gooping zombies while controlling the Chomper plant. 8 million goops results in a Crazy sticker pack, while 16 million leads to a free Ultra Rare sticker pack.
