Sony won't be making a price cut to its PS4 in order to combat the new 350 USD/EUR price tag for the Xbox One, but it will try to add different freebies to the home console package, such as coupons or free game downloads.

The Xbox One finally managed to trump the PS4 in terms of sales in the US for the months of November and December thanks to a 50 USD/EUR price cut made to the two main bundles. Last month it confirmed that the new retail price for the Xbox One pack was 350 USD/EUR, in order to maintain its dominance.

Now, during the recent financial briefing, Sony confirms that it won't be answering with a price cut for the PS4 to Microsoft's moves.

According to DualShockers, Sony Chief Financial Officer Kenichiro Yoshida mentions that Sony is aware of Microsoft's plans but it won't make a similar price cut. Instead, it wants to add more elements on top of the regular 399 USD/EUR bundle, among which discount coupons or free game downloads, such as The Last of Us Remastered, and much more.

Considering that the PS4 still has the upper hand in terms of global sales, it's unlikely that the Japanese company will make a discount anytime soon.
