Nintendo is announcing that during the coming E3 2015 event, Satoru Iwata, the leader of the company, will not be in Los Angeles because he is dealing with business matters that require him to be present in Japan.

Instead, the company is making Shigeru Miyamoto, the leading game developer working on its platforms, the star of its event activities, according to IGN.

E3 2014 was the first such event Satoru Iwata, the president and chief executive officer, missed, that time because of illness that precluded him from travelling.

Nintendo has also revealed that it will not focus on the new NX platform during the coming event, although it has already said it will be very important for its future.

Nonetheless, the company wants to make sure that gamers will be able to get more details about the future of the Wii U home console and the 3DS handheld, and about the big titles that will be launched before the end of 2015.

Recently, the company's financial results have shown a return to profit, and the Amiibo initiative has been very successful over the past few months.

Nintendo says more figurines will be coming this year, and it wants to make sure that no more shortages for the most popular ones take place.
