An issue prevents North Americans from playing with others

The next patch for Minecraft on the PS4 is set to fix the issue that prevents people in North America from playing with those from other parts of the world, according to developer 4J Studios.

Minecraft rolled out last year across many new platforms, including the PS4, PS Vita, and Xbox One, and shortly after that, its original developer, Mojang, got acquired by Microsoft, alongside the rights to the Minecraft franchise.

Even so, 4J Studios, the developer that handled all the console versions of the game, was still kept on to ensure that the title would run well across all platforms.

Unfortunately, it seems that a particularly nasty bug has surfaced on the PS4 version of Minecraft. More specifically, those who own the game and are in North America aren't able to play with friends located in Europe, Asia, or other parts of the world.

4J Studios is aware of the issue and pledges on the official Twitter to solve the glitch through the next update for the PS4 edition of Minecraft.

Unfortunately for those hit by the problem, there's no word on when the patch might appear, so for now, they'll be relegated to playing Minecraft online with fellow North Americans. Expect an official announcement soon enough.
