Developer Slightly Mad Studios is hammering away at its upcoming racing simulation video game Project Cars, in order to have everything ready by launch, this May.

The title is currently in development for the Windows PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms, with SteamOS and Nintendo Wii U versions slated for later in the year.

The game is pretty ambitious, as its creators aim to make the premier motorsport simulation video game, banking on their previous experience working on Need for Speed: Shift, Shift 2, and Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends.

Part of getting the simulation right is offering an immersive and realistic visual experience, which the game is set on delivering, as can be seen in the video below, supporting resolutions up to 4K.

The developers have also promised a ton of goodies post-launch, meant to thank the very loyal community that made the entire project possible, and who stuck with the team over the course of development.

The first such freebie is the Lykan Hypersport, the first supercar to come out of the Middle East, one of the most exclusive vehicles on the planet.

The developer is also working on World of Speed, a multiplayer-oriented racing title, set to launch into closed beta sometime this year, on PC. The game will be released as a free-to-play title supported by microtransaction, boasting social features on a level that has never been seen before.
