14 DAY TRIAL // The team at EA Sports in charge of NHL 15 is announcing that it plans to launch a new set of special items for the Hockey Ultimate Team mode, which are designed to celebrate the best player performances for the playoff season and the battle for the Stanley Cup.
The company is aiming to select one player who had an outstanding performance, and it created a Stanley Cup Player of the Game item for them.
The official announcement explains, "When initially released, these items will only be available for 24-hours and can be found randomly in select Gold and Special packs."
The Hockey Ultimate Team will also get Milestone items throughout the playoffs, based on the statistics and records of each team and player.
A Team of the Week is also planned for the period and will be delivered to gamers every Wednesday.
EA Sports has already used the engine of NHL 15 to predict that the winners of the Stanley Cup for the current season will be the Anaheim Ducks after a final against the New York Rangers.
The hockey simulation is at the moment offered for free in the Vault of the EA Access service on the Xbox One for all those paying a monthly subscription.
