The latest video stream from developer NetherRealm Studios revealed some neat gameplay footage for three of the new characters in the upcoming Mortal Kombat X.

The clip shows off some of the variations and moves of Kung Jin, Kung Lao's cousin, Takahashi Takeda, Kenshi's son, and Mileena, princess Kitana's palette swap from Mortal Kombat II. Actually, she's a monstrous clone of Kitana, created by the evil sorcerer Shang Tsung to serve Shao Kahn, the dark emperor of Outworld.

Fans can see some truly brutal action sequences in the video, including some gory fatalities, offering them a better look at the characters that will be making their debut in the series next month.

The stream also unveiled the Quitalities, a new type of finishing move that automatically blows up your head and rewards the opponent with a flawless victory when you quit a match, created to discourage people from rage quitting.

The game is really looking like one of the most exciting in the series so far, after the very successful reboot of the series back in 2011. MKX will add the most new fighters in any game in the series, and it will deliver three variants for each brawler, introducing slight gameplay shifts during matches.

Mortal Kombat X is coming out on April 14, 2015, on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The fighting game is also coming to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 home consoles at a later date in the year.
