Xbox Head Phil Spencer confirmed last month Microsoft’s plan to add the screenshot capability to Xbox One consoles very soon. Although he did not share details on when exactly the option to take screenshots on the Xbox One will be implemented, his remarks point to a launch in the not so distant future.

Today, another step towards the release of the screenshot ability on Xbox One has been made, as Phil Spencer confirmed the upcoming feature is now being tested on developer kits.

Once again, he did not share an exact launch date for the screenshot feature, but stated that the UI and activations are all debut for the moment.

He did not share any details on the method of taking screenshots either, so it’s unclear what combination of button presses will be used to record a video and/or capture pictures.

However, Spencer said that the Xbox Team would do a proper intro to the feature when it’s ready for preview, so we will have to wait a bit more until they finish working on the ability to take screenshots on Xbox One.

The screenshot feature will first be available to those participating in the preview program, and if testing ends successfully, then it will be available for general public a few weeks later.
