The team working on the new Hitman: Agent 47 movie now has an official trailer which shows a bit of action taken from the upcoming video game-based adaptation and allows the fan community to take a good look at Rupert Friend as the protagonist.

There’s also a companion video posted below which shows Agent 47 taking out those who are talking about the actual trailer for the movie.

The idea is interesting but neither of the two points to a film which is able to capture the spirit of the video game series.

Hitman: Agent 47 is set to be launched in cinemas on August 28, after a significant delay.

At the moment, a new title in the series is in development at IO Interactive, which is owned by Square Enix, but no information has been offered on the themes it will tackle or if there are any plans to link it to the movie in any way.

The developers have said that they want a title that is less linear and gives gamers more options to tackle each situation.

Square Enix Montreal is also currently working on mobile games based on Hitman, but no official announcement about them has been made so far.
