Helldivers developer Arrowhead Game Studios has released three new videos outlining some of the content coming to owners of their top-down shooter.

The game was launched back at the beginning of March and is now available on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita gaming devices from Sony.

Helldivers takes inspiration from military science fiction, with James Cameron's movie "Aliens" and Robert H. Heinlein's novel "Starship Troopers."

Players step into the shoes of space marines and embark on dangerous missions, taking place on procedurally generated maps, fighting against three different species of aliens. After completing a series of objectives, players can then call a dropship and make a quick getaway, before the enemy horde swarms them.

The game supports cooperative multiplayer, allowing up to four friends to step into the hazardous surface of various alien planets together.

The game was met with praise, and a lot of users are still enjoying its crazy action, enough to motivate the studio to release additional content for free to all owners of Helldivers.

Arrowhead Game Studios intends to release the sizable update soon, adding a ton of new content. The newly released videos showcase the new objectives, enemies and environment that gamers will be able to enjoy soon. For the time being, the update has no prospective release date.
