Halo 5: Guardians, the next installment in the first-person shooter series from 343 Industries and Microsoft, won't feature in its final version the flinch-like effects seen in the current multiplayer beta stage, as the studio confirms that it's just due to animation errors.

In the past, Halo games innovated massively when it comes to first-person shooters on consoles, and many popular franchises in the genre owe some of their success to the original titles made by Bungie.

The new caretaker of the series, 343 Industries, decided to make some changes to the overall recipe and introduced plenty of interesting things in Halo 4.

Now, the studio is working on Halo 5: Guardians and currently has a multiplayer beta stage live on the Xbox One.

Among the things noticed by beta participants is a flinch effect that happens when zooming in with a scoped rifled and getting shot at the same time.

Halo veterans will remember that in previous games getting shot while zoomed in caused the player to zoom out automatically. In Halo 4, the system got changed, so getting shot only caused the reticule to flinch around.

In the Halo 5 multiplayer beta, the flinch effect is back, but 343 Industries' Josh Holmes confirms on Twitter that it's only due to errors with the animation. He also emphasizes that the final game won't have the flinch effect, so fans can rest assured.

Halo 5: Guardians is expected to debut this fall on Xbox One.
