Daybreak Game Company, formerly known as Sony Online Entertainment, confirms that it's going to bring a new and improved lighting system for its recently released H1Z1 online zombie game, and as you can see in the comparison screenshots below, it will make the title look much brighter and less bleak.

H1Z1 was eagerly awaited by millions of zombie game fans, as it looked set to deliver a fun experience that improved on the already successful recipes of titles like DayZ.

Unfortunately, its initial Early Access rollout was plagued by quite a few controversies surrounding its free-to-play nature and the microtransactions, but things kept going, even if SOE was acquired by a new corporation and turned into Daybreak Game Company.

Now, the developer still has quite a few big plans for H1Z1, and it confirms on the official website that it's going to bring forth a fresh lighting system for the zombie game.

While no other details were offered, a set of comparison screenshots have been presented by the developer.

As you can see in the gallery below, the better lighting improves the overall brightness and removes the bleak nature of the whole experience. It does bring into the spotlight the rather poor textures, so it's unclear if the studio will also take some time to improve them.

Expect to hear more about H1Z1's new features in the future.
