Polish developer Techland has prepared something special for fans of its first-person zombie survival video game Dying Light.

Tomorrow, April 1, the studio is issuing a patch that changes the game for one day only, by adding some funky April Fools' Day superpowers.

You can see what all the commotion is about in the video below, showing that the Global Relief Effort has urged survivors throughout Harran to exercise caution when handling Antizin injections, as the latest batch has been exposed to a foreign contaminant.

The side effects are mostly hilarious, designed to enable gamers to have even more fun in the virtual playground that is Harran. Using exciting melee combat and the best parkour system ever crafted in a video game, Dying Light offers a thrilling journey through an infested city, and is a delight for fans of smashing zombies to pieces.

The developer has kept on supporting the game post-launch, having added a hard mode for players who enjoy a challenge to explore, and planning to release some free modding tools for the community to use.

Techland's previous zombie bashing romp, Dead Island, is still alive and kicking on PC thanks to its active modding scene, and it's definitely going to be exciting to see what kinds of crazy mods the community can come up with for Dying Light.
