Gamers will be able to explore each other's realities

Media Molecule has always been known for its innovative approach to video game development and its new project for the PlayStation 4 is an experience called Dreams, which will allow gamers to actually visit the realities that other players create and then explore them in innovative ways.

The studio says it does not want to create a classic editor that will allow players to create their dreams and then share them with others.

Instead, Dreams is designed to allow those who play on the PlayStation 4 to use gestures to modify the state of the world they are putting together and to then explore what others have created without having an impact on their state.

Media Molecule is well known for their unorthodox approach to development, but they have not delivered too many details about the way their new experience will work.

The concept behind Dreams sounds very interesting, but it's unclear how it can be implemented easily and without getting the player to learn a complex new sign language.

Presumably the team will try to introduce extensive tutorial elements in order to make sure that gamers know how to deal with the dream focused mechanics.

At the moment, the new PlayStation 4 Media Molecule concept does not have a launch window and more details will probably be offered in the coming months.
