The new system software is a mandatory one

The PS Vita handheld console from Sony has just received a brand new and mandatory firmware update, which takes the portable device's system software up to version 3.36 and, as often with these releases, it just serves to improve the stability of the PS Vita while using some features.

Sony has rolled out a lot of different firmware updates for the PS Vita ever since the small portable console launched back in late 2011 in Japan, and early 2012 in Europe, North America, and the rest of the world.

Now, a brand new small firmware update is now available as a mandatory download for all owners of the console to enjoy.

As with most such system software updates, the new one, which takes the handheld up to version 3.36, doesn't bring anything groundbreaking, as the changelog only mentions that the "system software stability during use of some features has been improved."

No other details were given so fans will just have to download the new update without knowing why it's worth installing the new software.

The update size clocks in at around 124MB, according to Gamepur, and can be downloaded the next time you connect the PS Vita to a wireless hotspot via the PlayStation Network.
