The maintenance took one hour longer than planned

Video game developer Bungie is announcing that it is starting to restore server service to its social shooter Destiny on all platforms and says that the game should be totally playable for gamers relatively quickly, although some might have to wait a little longer than others.

The official Twitter account of the company delivers the information, which will come as a relief to fans of the title that might have become a little worried after the studio previously announced that it was prolonging the downtime, initially estimated at 2 hours, for another 60 minutes.

No cause for the extra time needed for the server maintenance was offered and Bungie has also been relatively quiet on the upgrades it is making to the infrastructure of the game.

The company has made it clear that this is not the launch of the long-awaited update 1.1.1 for Destiny and has also assured the community that the patch will be out before the end of the month, which is at the end of this week.

Bungie has been dealing with a range of network-related issues when its game was first launched and the server maintenance might be a way to make sure that they no longer affect the experience in the future, when new patches and expansions are introduced.
