Video game developer Crytek is saying that it has managed to solve most of its financial problems by entering into a major licensing deal with a mysterious partner for a big intellectual property, although at the moment it cannot announce actual names or products based around it.

The information comes from Develop, and it seems that more information about the huge deal will only be offered when both partners are ready to talk about the future of their relationship and presumably when some actual details and a trailer have been created.

Crytek co-founder Faruk Yerli and head of public relations Jens Schaefer claim that the money troubles the company had in 2014 are now solved and big plans will be revealed soon.

The CryEngine is still a very powerful piece of software, and it appears that the current deal involves its use in order to bring a big science fiction or fantasy universe to life in the coming years.

Crytek is at the moment facing tough competition when it comes to game creation tech, as companies like Valve and Epic Games have announced that their own tech is offered to teams under very advantageous terms, with no monthly payments.
