Human history is full of all kinds of interesting myths, but unfortunately, we only rarely ever get to see video games drawing inspiration from untapped sources such as African culture.

Aurion, Legacy of the Kori-Odan is an upcoming 2.5D role-playing game created by African people, representing an African fantasy that has the potential to offer a rich experience to those looking to broaden their horizons.

The game follows the story of two leading characters, struggling to create a better future for their planet's people, traveling across six continents to find support for their cause.

The game blends a healthy dose of local culture with the broad appeal of established gameplay mechanics, and features gorgeous and vibrant hand-drawn visuals.

The combat is pretty complex, enabling users to mix and match skills in order to perform impressive combos, with the protagonists using an ancient energy form in order to perfect the art of combat, their legacy.

Apart from fighting the opposition, players will also have to explore the world and see its inhabitants going about their everyday lives, telling their stories, offering gamers worldwide the chance to experience parts of African life that they are unfamiliar with.

You can find out more about the game by visiting developer Kiro'o Games' website, and if you want to see it in action, you can give the video below a watch.
